Flossing is an essential part of caring for your teeth and gums. The American Dental Association recommends flossing at least once a day to help remove plaque from the areas between teeth where the toothbrush can’t reach. Flossing helps to prevent plaque from hardening and turning into calculus or tarter as well as preventing gum disease and cavities.
Flossing before or after brushing is still up for debate, but everyone agrees that flossing is essential to a healthy mouth.
